Atabey Dioses 10-Year Extra Aged Heads to PCA23

At this year’s Premium Cigar Association (PCA) trade show and international convention, United Cigars–the distributor of Selected Tobacco products–will release the limited edition 10-Year Extra Aged Atabey Dioses. This will be the first time this cigar will be available for release.

Typically, an Atabey cigar undergoes five years of aging in a multi-cedar lined humidor. The humidity within the humidor is reduced and raised to help the cigars absorb the different cedar notes. To Nelson Alfonso, this is his version of a spiritual ceremony that cleanses a cigar. For this new release, the world will see and taste how an additional five years of aging impacts an Atabey Dioses.

In a press release, Oliver Nivaud, director of operations at United Cigars, commented: “Like a Chef’s sauce reduction, the same has happened here. Cigars have a tendency to mellow with the additional aging, but they signature Atabey flavor notes have intensified on the Dioses while going through the Selected Tobacco aging process unique to the industry.”

The Atabey Dioses 10-Year Extra Aged will be handcrafted in Costa Rica. Presented in an 8 x 50 vitola, this cigar has an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper and Peruvian Ligero filler. The other tobaccos that are part of the blend have not been revealed. This cigar will have the same suggested retail price as the traditional 5-year-aged Atabey Dioses, with each cigar being priced at $36 before applicable taxes. Only 370 25-count boxes of this cigar will be released.

Atabey Dioses 10 Year Extra Aged will be available to retailers looking to order it at this year’s PCA23 in Las Vegas, July 7-11. Visit pcashow.org to register to attend this year’s trade show.
