New Hampshire: Ask Commerce Committee to Oppose Age Increase Legislation

Senate Bill 248 establishes an arbitrary new age restriction on adults to purchase legal tobacco products. This legislation proposes raising the age to purchase tobacco products from 18 to 21 years of age, encouraging individuals to order online or make the short drive to neighboring states to purchase tobacco products. S.B. 248 currently awaits consideration by the Senate Commerce Committee and could be voted on as early as tomorrow afternoon.
