New Hampshire: Tax Increase Defeated!

Legislation to remove the tax exemption for premium cigars in New Hampshire was defeated on the House floor by a 293 to 58 vote!

If this bill, H.B. 438, had passed, cigars would have been taxed at the state’s other tobacco products (OTP) tax rate of 65.03 percent of the wholesale price.

Thank you to the Cigar Association of New Hampshire and all IPCPR members who contacted members of the General Court in opposition to a tax increase on premium cigars.
