After a lobbying effort in the Kentucky state Senate by PCA’s team and grassroots outreach by our local members, we are pleased to report that a tax increase from 15% to 25% on premium cigars and pipe tobacco with a retroactive floor tax was NOT INCLUDED in the final budget package. This victory is notable given strong support for an other tobacco products (OTP) tax increase in the state House. The budget bill has been sent to Govenor Beshear for approval.
