Romeo y Julieta is celebrating its 150th anniversary in 2025. Since 1875, it has become a leading premium cigar brand worldwide. While it began as a Cuban-made brand, Altadis U.S.A. has owned and distributed it in the U.S.

Altadis U.S.A. has announced the Romeo y Julieta 150th cigar to celebrate the brand’s milestone anniversary. Handcrafted at Tabaclaera de Garcia in the Dominican Republic, the Romeo y Julieta 150th Anniversary has an Ecuador Sumatra wrapper, Mexican San Andrés binder, and filler from Peru and Honduras. This cigar is presented in three sizes: 5 x 50, 6 x 54, and 7 x 50.

In a press release, Altadis U.S.A. CEO Davide Moro commented: “Celebrating 150 years is a moment of immense pride for all of us. This milestone honors the generations of individuals who have contributed to this journey—from farmers and rollers to retailers and our loyal consumers. It also marks the beginning of an exciting year-long celebration for this iconic brand.”

Oliver Hyams, vice president of marketing at Altadis U.S.A., added: 2025 marks a pivotal year for Romeo y Julieta. To honor this 150-year milestone we will feature a series of strategic releases and exclusive events to highlight the brand’s legacy and our vision for the future. We are excited to bring our consumers along for this exceptional journey and look forward to sharing what’s ahead for Romeo y Julieta.”

The suggested retail price for the Romeo y Julieta 150th Anniversary ranges from $25 to $28 per cigar before applicable taxes. This cigar will be showcased during the 2025 ProCigar Festival and is expected to ship in April following the 2025 Premium Cigar Association (PCA25) trade show.
