Casa Carrillo Cigars is expanding its Encore Black series with the release of the Encore Black Bulwarks, a new 6 x 58 Perfecto scheduled to begin shipping to retailers this summer.
The Bulwarks builds on the legacy of the original Encore Black, offering a larger format and a richer, more commanding take on the blend that has become a signature for Casa Carrillo. The new vitola debuted at the Great Lakes Cigar Festival in Pontiac, MI, on July 26. A limited first shipment to select retailers is expected to ship soon.
At the heart of the full-bodied Encore Black Bulwarks is a carefully balanced combination of tobaccos from five distinct growing regions. This cigar has a Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro wrapper, a Mexican San Andrés Viso binder, and Nicaraguan filler tobacco from Condega, Estelí, and Jalapa. Each tobacco leaf used in the blend undergoes an 18-month fermentation process, followed by at least three years of aging. Once rolled, every cigar is aged an additional six months for optimal balance.
“The Bulwarks offers a fuller, more immersive expression of the Encore Black blend,” said Ernesto Perez-Carrillo. “We wanted to expand the line in a way that would give smokers a slower burn, pronounced transitions, and all the richness the Broadleaf wrapper has to offer. This release represents our continued commitment to creating cigars with heart, heritage, and craftsmanship.”
The Encore Black Bulwarks will initially ship in limited quantities to select retailers before a broader release later this year. Each box contains 10 cigars, with an MSRP of $21 per cigar / $210 per box before applicable taxes.
For retailers, this extension of the Encore Black line provides a premium, small-batch offering that builds on the success of one of Casa Carrillo’s most in-demand blends.
