Crowned Heads is set to expand its Blood Medicine brand this fall with the upcoming launch of Blood Medicine B-Positive LE 2025, a 6 x 52 toro that brings a bold new twist to the line. The release is scheduled to begin shipping mid-September to select retailers.

The B-Positive keeps the same internal makeup of the original Blood Medicine blend, but for the first time it swaps its Ecuadorian habano wrapper for a Nicaraguan corojo leaf. Beneath the wrapper lies an Ecuadorian Connecticut-seed binder and Nicaraguan fillers. The result, according to Crowned Heads co-founder Jon Huber, is a cigar that delivers a darker, richer, and more full-bodied interpretation of the line.

“The B-Positive concept was something I began working on with the factory last year,” Huber said. “I was looking for a darker, meatier expression of the Blood Medicine blend and experimented with several wrappers… Nothing really hit me until we started working with this corojo wrapper, and once we did, it became clear that it took the blend to an entirely new dimension in flavor and intensity.”

Each Blood Medicine B-Positive is priced at $12.95, and production is limited to 2,400 boxes of 12 cigars. The cigars are made in Estelí, Nicaragua, at D’Hatuey Tabacos S.A.—the factory behind other Crowned Heads releases including Mil Días and Juárez.

Blood Medicine itself has an unusual origin story. It began as an event-only cigar in 2022 and later grew into a limited production release in 2024. Earlier this year, Crowned Heads expanded the line with three habano-wrapped vitolas for 2025. The name “Blood Medicine” was inspired by an 1870s-era Nashville building with a painted advertisement still faintly visible on its walls today.

With B-Positive, Crowned Heads continues its momentum into 2025, offering retailers and enthusiasts alike a new, small-batch expression designed to showcase the corojo wrapper in its boldest form yet.
