CLE Cigar Company has introduced 1916 Tabacalera Eiroa, a new premium cigar developed by fourth-generation cigar maker Santi Eiroa. The release pays tribute to the year the Eiroa family began cultivating tobacco, marking more than a century of family history in the cigar industry.

The cigar highlights tobacco varieties long associated with the Eiroa family’s growing and blending traditions. The blend features Original Corojo and Pinareño seed tobaccos, both grown and preserved by the family. The Pinareño varietal, which originates from Cuba, remains one of the rarest tobacco components in the family’s portfolio and has been safeguarded by the Eiroa family for generations.

All tobaccos used in the blend are aged prior to production. The concept behind the cigar was designed to reflect both tradition and forward-looking blending preferences while maintaining the family’s historical approach to tobacco cultivation and cigar making.

For Santi Eiroa, the project also represents a personal connection to the family’s legacy. The cigar reflects the influence of multiple generations of Eiroa tobacco growers and cigar makers, including his great-grandfather Generoso Eiroa, who pioneered the family’s tobacco cultivation, his grandfather Julio, who refined the craft, and his father Christian, who helped expand the family’s cigars globally.

The resulting blend aims to balance flavor preferences across generations of the family, bridging fuller-bodied styles with more restrained profiles.

1916 Tabacalera Eiroa will be offered in five vitolas packaged in 18-count boxes. The line includes a Robusto measuring 5 x 50 with an MSRP of $16, a Toro measuring 6 x 52 with an MSRP of $17, a Belicoso measuring 6 1/2 x 50 with an MSRP of $18, and an El Gordo measuring 5 1/2 x 60 with an MSRP of $19. The release will also include a size called “The Personal,” measuring 5 1/2 x 44, offered as an exclusive format.

The release continues CLE’s focus on cigars rooted in the Eiroa family’s tobacco heritage while introducing new expressions designed to appeal to modern cigar smokers.
