Casa Carrillo has announced a new charitable initiative through its Carrillo Cares program that will support Dress for Success Miami with proceeds from its limited-production La Historia Silk cigar.
According to the company, a portion of proceeds from the latest shipment of La Historia Silk sold to retailers will benefit the nonprofit organization, which provides professional attire, career development and workforce support to women pursuing economic independence.
La Historia Silk Inspires New Partnership
The initiative builds on the story behind La Historia Silk, a cigar inspired by the women who helped shape the Perez-Carrillo family’s legacy. Casa Carrillo said the partnership extends that inspiration by supporting an organization focused on helping women build careers and long-term financial independence.
Since its founding in 1994, Dress for Success Miami has assisted more than 40,000 women through professional clothing, career coaching and workforce development programs.
“Women have played an important role in our family, our history, and our success,” said Lissette Perez-Carrillo, co-founder of Casa Carrillo, in a press release. “La Historia Silk was inspired by that influence, strength, and support. Partnering with Dress for Success Miami allows us to extend that story beyond the cigar and support an organization that is helping women create opportunities for themselves and their families.”
The company noted that Dress for Success Miami’s participation is limited to serving as the charitable beneficiary of the initiative and does not constitute an endorsement of tobacco products or tobacco use.
Continuing the Carrillo Cares Mission
Casa Carrillo said the partnership is part of its broader Carrillo Cares philanthropic program. Through the initiative, the company has donated more than $200,000 to the Els for Autism Foundation and has also supported organizations serving members of the military community through its Battleborn cigar.
