Tatuaje is preparing to ship its latest limited release, Old Man and the C Monster, to retailers beginning next week. The allocated release pairs two 7 x 44 formats of Tatuaje’s Creature blend—a Lonsdale and Culebra—inside individual coffin boxes.
The Old Man and the C Monster was displayed earlier this year at Tatuaje’s booth during the PCA Trade Show. Production is limited to 1,300 cabinet boxes worldwide, with each cabinet containing six coffins.
The Creature blend first joined Tatuaje’s Monster Series through the Monster Mash sampler in 2021. It returned in another format as part of the Monster Smash sampler in 2024 before appearing this year as a limited 6 7/8 x 52 release. The blend is a Nicaraguan puro, featuring Nicaraguan wrapper, binder and filler tobaccos.
Old Man and the C Monster also revisits a packaging concept with a history in the Tatuaje portfolio. The original Old Man and the C debuted in 2011, pairing an El Triunfador Culebra and Lancero, both measuring 7 1/2 x 38, inside a hinged coffin box. Tatuaje later applied the concept to its Black Label and Fausto blends.
For the Monster Series interpretation, Tatuaje has increased the ring gauge to 44 while shortening the cigars to 7 inches. Each coffin contains one Lonsdale and one Culebra using the Creature blend.
Old Man and the C Monster is produced at My Father Cigars in Nicaragua. MSRP is $54 per coffin, while a six-coffin cabinet carries an MSRP of $324.
With only 1,300 cabinet boxes slated for worldwide distribution, availability will be limited. The release is allocated, with Tatuaje sales representatives offering the product to qualifying retailers ahead of shipments beginning next week.
