CAO is bringing back Amazon Basin Extra Añejo, a limited release made with the original Amazon Basin blend and aged for two years before its 2026 return.
The cigars were rolled in 2024 and placed in CAO’s aging rooms instead of being released immediately. The additional aging allowed the blend’s tobaccos to mature before shipments begin in October.
Amazon Basin Extra Añejo features an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder. Its filler combines tobaccos from the Dominican Republic and Colombia with Brazilian Bragança, an indigenous tobacco grown in the Amazon region.
Bragança has been a defining component of Amazon Basin since the line was introduced in 2014. CAO describes the Extra Añejo as medium to full-bodied, with notes of earth and fruit.
“Amazon Basin has always been a special blend because of the unique profile of Bragança tobacco from the Amazon rainforest,” CAO Brand Manager Cory Beardsley said. “With Extra Añejo, we gave that blend an extra year to rest and fully mature. It’s the Amazon Basin experience people know, with time bringing even more depth to the blend.”
The 2026 release will be available exclusively in a 6 x 52 Toro. Cigars will be packaged in boxes of 18 and carry a suggested retail price of $15.89 each.
CAO Amazon Basin Extra Añejo is scheduled to begin shipping to retailers in October 2026. Production is described as extremely limited.
