La Gran Cata will hold its inaugural festival January 23–27, 2027, in Tegucigalpa and Danlí, Honduras, bringing together cultural activities, factory visits and tobacco plantation tours under the theme “The Honduran Premium Cigar Experience.”
Presented by the Consejo de Artesanos del Tabaco de Honduras (CATAH), the festival will introduce participants to the people, places and traditional craftsmanship behind Honduran premium cigars. The Premium Cigar Association (PCA) is a partner of the festival.
The program begins in Tegucigalpa with cultural activities, a city tour and the President’s Dinner. Participants will then travel to Danlí for factory and plantation visits, tastings and demonstrations of cigar-making techniques. A White Party dinner is also planned.
For specialty tobacco retailers, the itinerary offers an opportunity to see Honduran tobacco growing and cigar production firsthand, adding context to the products they introduce to customers in their stores.
According to the organizers, Honduras produces more than 250 cigar brands. The release also notes that the craft of making cigars entirely from leaf tobacco was declared an Intangible Cultural Heritage of the Republic of Honduras by the National Congress through Decree No. 15 in 2016.
Tickets are available now. The VIP All Access Package costs $2,500 and includes accommodation, transfers, meals and festival activities. An accompanying spouse package is available for $1,500.
