Altadis U.S.A. is set to introduce the Montecristo 1935 Anniversary Edición Doble Diamante Red, an extension of its ultra-premium Montecristo 1935 Anniversary line, at the 2026 Premium Cigar Association Trade Show (PCA26) in New Orleans.
The release follows the original Edición Doble Diamante and continues the company’s limited-production approach within the Montecristo portfolio.
Blend and Construction
The Edición Doble Diamante Red is a 6 1/2 x 54 toro extra and features an all-Nicaraguan blend, with tobaccos sourced from farms owned by A.J. Fernandez in Estelí, Nicaragua.
According to published details, the tobaccos used in the blend are drawn from Fernández’s Finca La Lilia and San Lotano farms, with a focus on select harvests that have undergone extended aging and fermentation. Production takes place at the AJ Fernandez factory in Nicaragua.
The release is limited to 5,000 cigars, packaged in 250 boxes of 20 cigars each. Each box is presented in a piano-finished humidor-style case, consistent with the positioning of the Doble Diamante line. The cigar carries a suggested retail price of $150 per cigar.
Position Within the Montecristo Portfolio
The Edición Doble Diamante Red represents the second release under the Doble Diamante name within the Montecristo 1935 Anniversary series, which focuses on limited, high-end offerings built around aged tobaccos and controlled production runs.
The name “Doble Diamante Red” is derived from the concept of a rare red diamond, reflecting both the limited nature of the release and the selection of tobaccos used in the blend.
The Montecristo 1935 Anniversary Edición Doble Diamante Red is expected to be on display at PCA26, with shipments scheduled to begin shortly after the trade show in April 2026.
