Artesano Del Tobacco has unveiled the latest addition to its acclaimed El Pulpo line: the El Pulpo Perfecto, nicknamed “The Squid.” This new 6.5 x 60 box-pressed Perfecto will begin shipping nationwide on August 28, 2025 .
Crafted at AJ Fernandez’s factory in Estelí, Nicaragua, “The Squid” carries the same blend that has defined El Pulpo—featuring a bold Mexican San Andrés Maduro wrapper with Nicaraguan binder and fillers. The Perfecto format was chosen after loyal consumers expressed interest in a vitola that showcased the balance and strength of the blend in a unique shape.
The name itself was inspired during a pre-release event at Matador Cigar Lounge in New York City. “Willy, the GM, suggested calling it ‘The Squid’ because of its resemblance to the creature,” said the Fakih family, founders of Artesano Del Tobacco. “It’s a shape that highlights harmony between strength and flavor, especially with our San Andrés wrapper.”
Each box contains 10 cigars presented in packaging that reflects the original El Pulpo line. Priced at $20 per cigar or $200 per box, the El Pulpo Perfecto “The Squid” continues Artesano Del Tobacco’s commitment to quality, storytelling, and craftsmanship .
Founded more than three decades ago by Billy and Gus Fakih, Artesano Del Tobacco grew out of their New York Cigar Inn before partnering with AJ Fernandez in Nicaragua. Today, the company is celebrated for blending tradition, innovation, and artistry—qualities that shine in this newest release.
