Crowned Heads has announced Starwood, a new event-exclusive cigar inspired by Nashville’s former Starwood Amphitheater.
The 5 x 50 Robusto will be available only at select Crowned Heads events held at authorized retail locations. Pricing, production totals and an initial event schedule were not announced.
Manufactured at Nicaragua American Cigars S.A. (NACSA), Starwood features an Ecuadorian Habano Oscuro wrapper over binder and filler tobaccos from three Nicaraguan growing regions: Estelí, Jalapa and Ometepe.
For retailers, the limited distribution gives the cigar a specific promotional role. Rather than becoming a standard addition to store humidors, Starwood will provide select retail partners with an exclusive product tied to Crowned Heads events and in-store customer engagement.
Inspired by a Nashville Music Landmark
Starwood takes its name from the outdoor amphitheater that operated in Middle Tennessee from 1986 to 2006. The venue accommodated crowds of more than 17,000 and hosted rock, country and pop performers during its two-decade run.
Blue Öyster Cult appeared on the venue’s opening night, while Aerosmith and Mötley Crüe performed during its final show. Although the amphitheater was later demolished, it remains a memorable part of Nashville’s live-music history.
Crowned Heads, which has been based in Nashville since 2011, developed the cigar around the communal experience associated with concerts and live events.
“Starwood was more than a venue; it was a rite of passage for so many people in Nashville,” said Crowned Heads President Jon Huber, who recalled attending a 1997 concert featuring Cheap Trick and Stone Temple Pilots at the amphitheater.
“With this cigar, we were inspired to create an exceptional smoke that is meant to be enjoyed in good company, the same way the best shows always were,” Huber said.
Starwood will appear exclusively at select Crowned Heads events. Retailers and consumers can follow Crowned Heads on social media and check with authorized retail partners for future event announcements.
