El Rey del Mundo is expanding its portfolio with the release of King of the World VSOP, a new limited-edition cigar that builds on the brand’s long-standing reputation for delivering value-driven blends with aged complexity.

The cigar serves as a follow-up to the King of the World release introduced in 2024, continuing a series that highlights select tobaccos that have been aged and held back for future use. In the case of VSOP, the cigars were rolled in 2021 and have spent several years aging before being brought to market, allowing the blend to develop additional depth and balance prior to release.

A Blend Built on Aged Tobacco
King of the World VSOP features an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper, paired with a Nicaraguan Habano binder and a blend of Nicaraguan and Dominican Habano fillers. The cigar is positioned as a medium-to-full-bodied offering, designed to deliver a profile that balances strength with refinement.

Production took place at STG Estelí in Nicaragua, a facility known for producing a range of premium cigars across Scandinavian Tobacco Group’s portfolio.

Limited Production, Accessible Positioning
For retailers, one of the more notable aspects of the release is its positioning. While limited in production, the cigar maintains a price point consistent with El Rey del Mundo’s reputation for accessibility.

The cigar will be offered in a single 6 x 52 Toro format and packaged in 16-count boxes, with a suggested retail price of $10.99 per cigar.

Production is capped at 2,000 boxes, reinforcing the limited nature of the release while still allowing for broader distribution compared to ultra-small batch projects.

Shipping and Availability
King of the World VSOP is scheduled to begin shipping to retailers in April 2026, positioning it as a spring release that arrives shortly after the PCA Trade Show period and into a season where new product momentum typically builds across retail humidors.

For PCA members, the release offers a combination of aged tobacco, recognizable branding, and an approachable price point—a mix that has historically resonated well with a broad segment of premium cigar consumers.
