Fratello Cigars has announced the Fratello USA 250, a commemorative cigar created to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States in 2026. The limited release will debut at the 2026 Premium Cigar Association Trade Show in New Orleans before shipping to retailers later in the year.
The project pays tribute to the nation’s founding and the original thirteen colonies that declared independence in 1776. To reflect that history, the cigar will be packaged in boxes containing 13 cigars, symbolizing the colonies that formed the foundation of the United States.
The Fratello USA 250 is produced at the Joya de Nicaragua factory in Estelí, Nicaragua. The blend incorporates tobaccos from several regions, featuring a Nicaraguan wrapper over a Pennsylvania Broadleaf binder with filler tobaccos from Pennsylvania and the Dominican Republic.
Fratello founder Omar de Frias said the project reflects both historical significance and entrepreneurial spirit, tying the brand’s story to the broader legacy of opportunity and resilience associated with the American experience.
The cigar will be offered in a 6 x 54 toro format and produced in a strictly limited run. Only 250 boxes are planned for the release, each carrying an MSRP of $20 per cigar. Retail shipments are scheduled to begin June 1, 2026, positioning the release ahead of the nationwide Semiquincentennial celebrations.
The USA 250 joins Fratello’s PURO Collection and represents the brand’s contribution to a milestone year that will see numerous commemorative releases across the premium cigar industry.
