At this year’s Premium Cigar Association (PCA) trade show, JRE will debut the new Aladino 85 Aniversario Reserva. This premium cigar, blended by Julio Eiroa, was originally intended to celebrate his 80th anniversary. It features tobacco grown from the Pinareño seed, first introduced in Honduras by Tino Agurdin in 1960.

Pinareño seeds have small yields and are typically delicate in nature. This variety of tobacco is also more susceptible to disease than Corona, making it a rarity for tobacco growers. Julio was up to the challenge and wanted to use a true Cuban seed. He carefully worked on his Pinareño crop until he could achieve a flavorful, smooth, and aromatic. The resulting Aladino 85 Aniversario Reserva is a mild-to-medium-bodied cigar that offers notes of cedar, cinnamon, chestnuts, and linger florals.

The Aladino 85 Anniversario Reserva is available in two sizes: Robusto, 5 x 50, and Toro, 6 x 52. The box features an image of Julio’s classic yellow 1961 Buick, and the car’s yellow color is worked into the cigar’s band.

The suggested retail price for this cigar is $20 before applicable taxes. The Aladino 85 Aniversario Reserva will be a regular production cigar for JRE, but it will be kept exclusive, with four boxes per vitola being released a month.
