At April’s Premium Cigar Association (PCA) trade show, Karen Berger Cigars will debut a new cigar line that features all Nicaraguan tobacco in the cigar’s blend–Ixtelli,
Ixtelli will have a Habano Criollo wrapper, Habano binder, and filler grown by Karen Berger’s farm in Estelí, Nicaragua. It will be handcrafted at Karen Berger’s cigar factory in Nicaragua and presented in just one size, a 6 x 52 toro.
“Ixtelli is more than just a cigar; it embodies the essence of Estelí, the tobacco capital of Nicaragua. Its name is inspired by the region’s pre-Columbian roots, derived from the indigenous words “ix” (eye) and “telli” (valley, field), meaning ‘Eye over the valley,'” the company shared in a statement. “From the hands of our ancestors to the arrival of Cuban master blenders, Estelí’s history is woven with tradition, culture, and a deep passion for tobacco. Ixtelli honors this legacy with a 100% Nicaraguan blend, medium-bodied, meticulously crafted with leaves from the country’s richest soils.”
Each Ixtelli cigar will have a suggested retail price of $14.50 before applicable taxes. This cigar is expected to ship in April 2025.
Ixtelli will be displayed at Karen Berger’s booth at the PCA25 trade show in New Orleans from April 11 to 14, 2025.
