La Aurora USA will release the La Aurora Preferidos Hors d’Age 2024 at this year’s Premium Cigar Association (PCA) trade show in New Orleans.

“From seed to cigar, the journey for this release began 12 years ago,” says Manuel Inoa, La Aurora’s master blender. “As a result, we named it Hors d’Age, which is taken from the French cognac designation, literally translating to ‘beyond age.’ And just as Hors d’Age cognac is arguably some of the highest quality cognac in the world due to its age, we set out to create an annual release that was also of the highest quality, thanks to expert aging and blending.”

The Preferidos Hors d’Age 2024 has an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper, Ecuadorian Sumatra binder, and filler from the Dominican Republic, Colombia, and Nicaragua. According to La Aurora, this cigar is well-balanced and a complex blend that has “spicy notes complemented by delicate flavors.” There’s a presence of wood in the cigar’s flavor profile throughout the smoke that is also enriched by “nuances of cinnamon, nuts, and even citrus in the finish. Its aromatic, rich smoke is characterized by its delicate touches of roasted coffee that prove to be the height of a demanding smoke.”

Preferidos Hors d’Age 2024 will be available in a Toro format that measures 5 3/4 x 54 and will come packaged in boxes of 15. Only 700 boxes of this limited edition cigar will be released within the U.S. This cigar is expected to ship to retailers in late April. Each cigar will have a suggested retail price of $30 before applicable taxes.

La Aurora will showcase Preferidos Hors d’Age 2024 and other releases at its booth during the 2025 PCA trade show (PCA25), which will be held in New Orleans from April 11 to 14, 2025.
