La Aurora Cigars, the oldest premium cigar factory in the Dominican Republic, announces the debut of Fuerte Sol, the inaugural release in its new Family Creed Series. This release represents a bold step forward for La Aurora, blending a deep respect for heritage with a renewed commitment to innovation in the U.S. market.
Unveiling at PCA 2025 in New Orleans, Fuerte Sol embodies the León family’s values of strength, endurance, and generational pride. “Legacy is not about standing still,” said Guillermo León, President of La Aurora. “It is about pushing forward while remaining grounded in the principles that built us. Fuerte Sol is a celebration of our past and a statement of our future.”
Crafted to reflect the first tenet of the León Family Creed, Fuerte Sol marries artisanal technique with a modern blending philosophy. This medium-to-full-bodied cigar features a dark Mexican San Andrés wrapper, a Nicaraguan binder, and a filler blend of select tobaccos from Pennsylvania, the Dominican Republic, and Nicaragua. The profile is rich and complex, offering notes of spicy cedar, cocoa, toasted nuts, oak, and a subtle citrus brightness.
Three box-pressed vitolas will complete the line: Robusto, 5 x 50; Toro, 5 ¾ x 54; and Gran Toro, 6 x 58. The suggested retail price will range from $15.50 to $18.50 per cigar before applicable taxes.
All formats will be presented in 20-count dress boxes, with initial shipping beginning in early May.
Fuerte Sol is more than a new blend—it marks the beginning of a multi-year series honoring the values that have shaped La Aurora’s century-long journey. Each release in the Family Creed Series will be named after a guiding principle from the León family’s foundational philosophy.
