Cohiba Riviera Lancero Shipping in May 2024

Cohiba will be available as a lancero for the first time come this May. At this year’s Premium Cigar Association (PCA) trade show, Cohiba announced the brand’s ultra-premium Riviera collection would expand with the addition of a new lancero size. The Riviera collection is a six-region blend named after the San Andrés Tuxtla Valley where the cigar’s wrapper was grown.

“The Lancero is a sophisticated vitola, and it was with great intention that we chose to debut this format under the Riviera line. Cohiba Riviera embodies the brand’s style and substance in a way that is classically modern, and our resurgence of this classic size feels new and contemporary in its box pressed format, especially under the Riviera umbrella,” said Cohiba’s brand ambassador Sean Williams.

The Cohiba Riviera is a medium to full-bodied cigar made with tobaccos from Nicaragua and Honduran tobaccos grown exclusively for the collection. The cigar is made with a Mexican San Andrés wrapper, a Honduran-grown Connecticut binder, and filler tobaccos that include proprietary Honduran Jamastran and Honduran La Entrada, and Nicaraguan Condega and Estelí.

According to Cohiba, the Cohiba Riviera “delivers an elegant smoking experience consisting of dark chocolate and espresso notes with a hint of leather and subtle cream on the finish.”

The new lancero size of Cohiba Riviera measures 7 x 38 and has a suggested retail price of $14.99 before applicable taxes. It will be shipped in 15-count boxes and will begin shipping to retailers in May 2024.

In addition to the lancero size, Cohiba Riviera is available in the following sizes: Robusto, 5 x 52; Toro, 6 1/2 x 52; and Perfecto, 6 x 60.
