E.P. Carrillo is now shipping the E.P. Carrillo Maduro and the E.P. Carrillo Sumatra to retailers. These new releases are part of E.P. Carrillo’s recently announced Essence Series, a collection of six unique blends set apart by their wrappers.
The E.P. Carrillo Sumatra has an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper, dual binder leaves from Nicaragua and Honduras, and filler from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. The E.P. Carrillo Maduro’s bled includes a rich Mexican San Andres wrapper, Honduran binder, and Nicaraguan filler. The E.P. Carrillo and E.P. Carrillo Sumatra will be available in three sizes: Robusto, 5 x 50; Toro, 6 x 52; and Gordo, 6 x 60. The suggested retail price per cigar will range from $9.25 to $10.75.
These new cigars will come in 24-count boxes that feature a QR code linking to a dedicated webpage with detailed information about the cigar. The QR code will also be featured on the cigar’s footband and will direct consumers to a questionnaire to help them find other cigars within E.P. Carrillo’s portfolio that they may like.
“This innovative approach not only provides consumers with easy access to valuable information but also engages them in a personalized journey to discover their ideal cigar. By integrating technology into the packaging, E.P. Carrillo ensures a seamless blend of tradition and modernity, enhancing the overall experience for cigar enthusiasts,” the company explained in a recent press release.
The release of the E.P. Carrillo Sumatra and E.P. Carrillo Maduro marks the beginning of the company’s new Essence Series. Over the next 2-3 years, E.P. Carrillo plans to release six unique blends, each having a unique wrapper. The Honduras blend is next in the series, set for a release in the latter half of 2024. Future releases include the Connecticut, Nicaragua, and Cameroon blends, each crafted to appeal to cigar enthusiasts’ senses through taste, sight, and touch.
