E.P. Carrillo is debuting a new brand at the 2024 Premium Cigar Association (PCA24) trade show: the E.P. Carrillo Sumatra, part of the company’s new Essence Series. This blend is designed for everyday smokers who want E.P. Carrillo’s pristine quality and complexity in a new format.

The E.P. Carrillo Sumatra will be available in three sizes: Robusto, 5 x 50; Toro, 6 x 52; and Gordo, 6 x 60. This blend features an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper, a double binder from Nicaragua and Honduras, and filler tobacco from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. Unlike other cigars in the Perez-Carrillo series that are exclusively box-pressed, this cigar will be presented in a round press format.

E.P. Carrillo Sumatra will have a suggested retail price ranging from $9.25 to $10.75 per cigar, before applicable taxes. These cigars will come in 24-count boxes, and retailers can place pre-orders during PCA24. They will begin shipping to retail in late May 2024.

The company already has big plans for the future. E.P. Carrillo will launch six blends within two to three years, each set apart by its unique and notable wrapper. In the second half of 2024, E.P. Carrillo will release a Honduras and Maduro variety. The Connecticut, Nicaragua, and Cameroon blends will follow in the following years.

“We intend to incorporate a series of educational materials to teach our smokers about each wrapper in this series we are calling our Essence Series, where the focus is all about the wrapper,” said Lissette Perez-Carrillo.
