Macanudo Gold Label Returns with New Size

The Macanudo Gold Label is coming back with a new limited-edition size. Macanudo Gold Label, an annual release, will be available in eight sizes, including a 6 x 49 vitola named Golden Fig, which is a perfecto created exclusively for release in 2024.

Macanudo Gold Label Golden Fig (2024) | Macanudo Cigars

Originally released in 2002, the Macanudo Gold Label is named for the brand’s golden wrapper leaves that were harvested from the first and second primings of the Connecticut Shade tobacco plant. Because these leaves are exposed to less sunlight, more natural sugars remain in the leaves that are extremely thin and remarkably supple with barely visible veins.

The cigar has a smooth and silky texture with subtle hints of sweetness on the palate. The special wrapper, called Capa Especial, is combined with the first and second primings of Mexican San Andrés tobacco that is used as the binder and sits atop a blend of Dominican Piloto Cubano and Mexican filler tobaccos.

“Macanudo Gold Label is an enticing, mellow blend that makes for a great smoking experience on its own and deepens the allure of pairings. It’s a pleasure to bring the blend back for its 22nd year and we look forward to sharing it with cigar lovers across the country,” says Steve Abbot, Macanudo’s director of marketing.

In addition to the new Golden Fig size, Macanudo Gold Label is available in the following sizes: Hampton Court Tubo, 5 1/2 x 42; Lord Nelson, 7 x 49; Tudor, 6 x 52; Duke of York, 5 1/4 x 54; Shakespeare, 6 1/2 x 45; Crystal, 5 1/2 x 50; and Ascot, 4.18 x 32. Suggested retail price per cigar ranges from $11.39 to $12.79, before applicable prices. Ascot is available in a 10-count tin with a suggested retail price of $25.19 before applicable taxes.

The Macanduo Gold Label will begin shipping to retail on July 31, 2024.
