The Premium Cigar Association (PCA) government affairs and research team recently put together a simplified informational guide on State Clean Indoor Air Act, Indoor Smoking Rules, and Tobacco Sales Information.
This document was created to provide current members and prospective members with a consolidated resource and starting point in understanding requirements necessary to operate a cigar lounge or retail tobacco establishment at the state level. This guide is not legal advice, and the association strongly recommends working with local/state attorneys to better understand the obligations and legal requirements of operating a business or opening a new business in a highly regulated environment such as tobacco product sales.
The association is actively advocating to ease the burden to create establishments that afford legal adults 21+ the ability to enjoy a premium cigar or pipe indoors at specialty tobacco retail stores and lounges. Furthermore, the association is working to increase profitability of these businesses by creating streamlined licensing that allows the small business owner the flexibility to sell coordinate services such as food and beverage in these establishments.
If you have any questions about the Premium Cigar Association’s advocacy efforts or this guide, please contact Deputy Executive Director/ Head of Government Affairs Joshua Habursky [email protected] or State Advocacy Director Glynn Loope [email protected].
