Pangea Cigars has formally announced the launch of the company, marking the introduction of a new premium cigar business founded by industry professionals Ibis Luis and Anna Ayupova.

According to the company, Pangea Cigars was established with a focus on intentional brand development, disciplined production, and long-term positioning within the premium cigar category. The founders stated that the company’s approach emphasizes experience, consistency, and restraint rather than high-volume production or rapid expansion.

The name “Pangea” references the ancient supercontinent and is intended to represent connection across cultures and shared experiences. The company indicated that this concept informs its broader brand philosophy, including how its cigars are designed, blended, and presented.

Luis brings more than 15 years of experience in the premium cigar industry, including work in retail, brand development, and manufacturing. She previously spent six years with Plasencia Cigars as a U.S. representative and brand developer and currently works as a consultant for select cigar manufacturers. Luis is also a Certified Cigar Sommelier and Certified Bourbon Steward.

Ayupova contributes a background in executive leadership, luxury hospitality, and culinary arts. She previously owned and operated a cigar and wine club in California and holds certifications as both a Cigar Sommelier and Wine Sommelier. The company stated that her experience informs Pangea’s focus on balance, refinement, and design.

As part of its initial development, Pangea Cigars is collaborating with Indiana Ortez of Casa de Ortez on its inaugural product. The collaboration is centered on blend development and production, though specific blend details have not yet been released.

At this time, Pangea Cigars has not announced release dates or specifications for its first cigars. The company stated that additional information regarding upcoming products and availability will be shared at a later date.
