As part of its ongoing focus on education, the Premium Cigar Association (PCA) has teamed up with the We Card Program, Inc., for a special deal. Current retail members of the PCA will be able to take We Card’s Employee Training Course at no charge. This offer is for the first 100 PCA retail members to sign up for this course (one free course per retail member).
We Card’s Employee Training Course is designed for retail employees who sell age-restricted products, particularly tobacco and e-cigarettes or vaping products. The course provides an interactive and engaging set of exercises, simulations, and evaluations to teach and test the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to responsibly retail age-restricted products.
“We’re thrilled to collaborate with the Premium Cigar Association to provide We Card training to its retail membership. Employee training is a vital step in responsibly retailing cigars and other age-restricted products, and we recommend retailers get their employees trained on an annual basis,” said Doug Anderson, president of the We Card Program.
Trainees learn about U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) requirements for retailers, including the FDA rules on FDA-regulated products, the fines and penalties and the “under 30 years old” carding requirement. The course is state law specific, providing summaries of state law for tobacco products and e-cigarette and vaping products on minimum age, restricted products, acceptable forms of ID, fines and penalties and any required state government signage. Successfully completing the training allows employees to take the “Store Challenge” test and the opportunity to earn a Certificate with a passing score.
