Plasencia Cigars has unveiled two major releases, each reflecting the company’s longstanding tradition of craftsmanship and innovation: El Año del Caballo, a 2026 Chinese New Year tribute to the spirit of the horse, and the Cosecha 151 – 2025 TAA Exclusive Salomón, an award-winning Honduran blend crafted exclusively for Tobacconists’ Association of America (TAA) retailers.

El Año del Caballo: A Tribute to Power, Grace, and Artistry
Plasencia Cigars’ annual Chinese New Year release continues in 2026 with El Año del Caballo, a bold celebration of strength and movement inspired by the legendary Flying Horse of Gansu. Limited to 6,000 ten-count boxes worldwide, the 7 x 58 Parejo Gordo cigar features a distinctive hand-braided “horse-tail” cap—an intricate flourish that requires a trio of artisans and twice the time of a traditional cigar to complete.

“The horse embodies independence, resilience, and forward motion,” said fifth-generation owner Néstor Andrés Plasencia. “El Año del Caballo is more than a cigar—it is a tribute to mastery in motion. From the rare, braided finish to the power and balance of the blend, this release reflects our legacy and our relentless drive to innovate.”

The blend delivers a dynamic profile of creamy cacao, floral notes, toasted wood, roasted nuts, and sun-dried raisins. Each cigar is housed in a red lacquer collector’s box accented in gold, symbolizing prosperity and fortune. Shipping will begin in November 2026, with an MSRP of $590 per ten-count box or $59 per cigar.

Cosecha 151 TAA Exclusive Salomón: Honoring Honduran Heritage
At the 2025 Tobacconists’ Association of America (TAA) meeting, Plasencia debuted the Cosecha 151 – 2025 TAA Exclusive Salomón, a limited 6 x 54 Figurado available only to TAA retailers. Handcrafted in Danlí, Honduras, this expression showcases tobaccos harvested from the 2016–2017 crop—the 151st consecutive harvest for the Plasencia family.

“Cosecha represents the soul of Honduras,” said Plasencia. “To share this blend in such a commanding format with our TAA partners is both a privilege and a celebration of the land, our artisans, and the loyalty of those who appreciate the quality of Honduran tobacco.”

The medium-to-full-bodied Honduran puro reveals a rich profile of roasted coffee, pecans, and dark chocolate, balanced by prunes, cinnamon, and an oak finish. Presented in ten-count boxes, the cigars carry an MSRP of $21 each or $210 per box before applicable taxes.

Following multiple accolades—including Best Brand Honduras 2025 and #1 New Cigar of 2024 from Cigar Journal—the Cosecha 151 line continues to affirm Plasencia’s reputation for excellence and consistency in the art of premium tobacco.
