Plasencia Cigars is celebrating the upcoming Chinese New Year with a new release. The El Año de la Culebra–Edición Limitada 2025 is the fifth limited edition release within Plasencia’s Chinese New Year Collection. This cigar is presented in a 10-count box that contains eight Lanceros and one Culebra (comprised of 2 intertwined cigars).
In a press release, Nestor Andrés Plasencia, fifth generation family member, commented: “El Año de la Culebra Edición Limitada 2025 is a tribute to the Chinese Lunar Year. Featuring elegant Lanceros and the unique Culebra, each cigar reflects the artistry and precision of our master rollers.”
Only one roller at Plasencia can craft the Culebras. This is a Nicaraguan puro that is described as being both bold in intensity and intricate in complexity. After the first draw, the cigar has a noticeable essence of petrichor that transitions into a rich, refined character of sherry oak barrel. As the smoking of the cigar continues, layers of roasted chestnuts and creamy sweetness come forth, along with a mix of fresh herbal notes. The cigar ends with a warm touch of cloves.
Only 6,000 10-count boxes of the El Año de la Culebra Edición have been produced. Each box includes 8 Lanceros measuring 7 x 40 and 1 culebra. Each box has a suggested retail price of $490 before applicable taxes.
