Powstanie Cigars has announced the release of the 250th American Anniversary War Bear, a limited-edition commemorative version of its War Bear cigar created to mark the upcoming 250th anniversary of the United States.
The release features the same blend used in the 2025 War Bear but introduces new collector-focused packaging designed specifically for the anniversary edition. According to the company, the cigar retains its original blend and band while being presented in a commemorative package intended to celebrate themes of independence, resilience, and sacrifice.
The 250th American Anniversary War Bear is produced at Fábrica de Tabacos Nica Sueño S.A. and is offered in a 5 5/8 x 60 Perfecto vitola. The blend consists of an Ecuadorian Habano and Mexican San Andrés barber pole wrapper over an Indonesian binder with fillers from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua.
A key feature of the release is its packaging, which incorporates a natural Cerakote metal shell. Powstanie notes that the finish creates a unique appearance for each box, with patterns varying from one unit to another.
Production is limited to 250 commemorative boxes, with each box containing eight cigars. Total production is limited to 2,000 cigars.
“We wanted to commemorate this once-in-a-generation anniversary while preserving everything people loved about the original War Bear,” said Mike Palmer, National Sales Manager for Powstanie Cigars, in a statement. “The commemorative packaging transforms it into a collector’s piece worthy of this historic occasion while honoring the legacy of the War Bear.”
The 250th American Anniversary War Bear will carry a suggested retail price of $250 per box.
