New Jersey lawmakers are considering NJ AB1035, a commonsense bill that would create a narrow exemption to the state’s indoor smoking ban for cigar nights held at racetracks and off-track wagering facilities.

These events are limited, well-regulated, and voluntary. They support local businesses, tourism, and jobs, while giving adult consumers the freedom to enjoy a legal product in designated settings.

Without this exemption, racetracks and OTB facilities risk losing a popular attraction that brings in patrons, supports local retailers, and contributes to the broader entertainment economy.

PCA members’ voices matter. Lawmakers need to hear directly from retailers, manufacturers, and advocates who understand the real-world impact of these policies.
