Villiger Söhne Holding AG has announced the appointment of Christoph Schüpbach as Chief Executive Officer of the Villiger Group, effective June 1, 2026. The company stated that Schüpbach will succeed current Managing Director Clemens Gütermann, who is expected to retire in 2027 following a transition period. 

According to Villiger, leadership roles across multiple companies. He served as CEO of the Schleuniger Group for more than eleven years and later assumed operational leadership of Regent Lighting in 2020. His earlier career includes roles at Bystronic and ABB. The appointment is part of a planned leadership transition, with Gütermann continuing in his role during the handover phase.

Villiger Söhne Holding AG’s long-term strategy will remain unchanged under new leadership, with a continued focus on combining tradition, innovation, quality, and customer focus. Villiger also confirmed that it will remain a family-owned business.

Villiger Söhne Holding AG, headquartered in Pfeffikon, Switzerland, operates as an international manufacturer of cigars and cigarillos. The company produces more than one billion cigars and cigarillos annually and employs over 1,150 people.

Villiger exports to more than 80 countries and maintains production facilities in Switzerland, Germany, Brazil, Indonesia, and Nicaragua.
