La Aurora USA is relaunching the La Aurora 100 Años in the U.S. with a new box design. The 100 Años premium cigar was first launched in 2003 to celebrate 100 years of La Aurora’s superior tobacco production and cigar excellence.
The new packaging highlights the cigar’s legacy and the iconic La Aurora brand. The La Aurora 100 Años is a medium-to-full-bodied smoke with wood and leather notes and a sweet cocoa bitterness. The blend is made entirely of Dominican tobacco and is available in a Churchill, Belicoso, and Robusto format.
In a press release, La Aurora S.A.’s creative lead, Johnny Oliva, commented: “It’s an honor to pay tribute to the cigar that received the award for the best Dominican cigar in the world in 2004, La Aurora 100 Años. In this box redesign, some iconic elements of the line were considered, such as its emblematic band with the lion with crossed paws atop the hill and the sunrise honoring our name in the background. With this touch of nostalgia, we aimed to highlight the box finish with a high-gloss, luxurious walnut wood style to celebrate this great Dominican product.”
Shipping is expected to begin in February, with 500 boxes of Robusto and Belicoso being sent to the U.S. market. Another 500 boxes of the Churchill format will be available later this year.
The La Aurora 100 Años is one of several anniversary releases available from La Aurora. The others include the 115 Anniversary, 120 Anniversary, and the E. León Jimenes 110 Aniversario Rum by La Aurora.
