United Cigars is bringing back its Gold Star brand as a line extension. The Gold Star line debuted in 1995 and was dormant until 2024, when a limited-edition Gold Star was released that helped raise over $30,000 for the Navy Seal Gold Star Program. Now, Gold Star will be a regular production cigar with a refreshed blend that highlights United Cigars’s commitment to tradition, creating an unforgettable smoking experience. Gold Star is handcrafted in the Dominican Republic at Tabacalera William Ventura.
“Gold Star pays our homage to the classic Dominican tradition while pushing the boundaries of flavor complexity. Every draw is a tribute to the passion and skill from the Ventura family factory, our time together on this blend was driven by a true friendship,” comments Oliver Nivaud of United Cigars.
Gold Star has an Ecuador Habano 2000 Intermedio wrapper, a Sumatra binder, and a combination of Criollo 98, Corojo 98, and Connecticut Broadleaf filler. The cigar is presented in three sizes: Robusto, 5 x 52; Toro, 6 x 54; and Gordo, 6 1/2 x 60.
Gold Star will be sold in 20-count boxes adorned with a Gold Star logo on the box’s top. The suggested retail price per cigar will range from $12 to $14. Select retailers will receive this cigar in March 2025, and a wider release will occur at this year’s Premium Cigar Association (PCA) trade show in New Orleans, April 11-14, 2025.
