Ferio Tego has announced a limited-production cigar marking a significant milestone: 30 years of the Metropolitan brand, one of the longest-running and most consistent portfolios in the modern premium cigar marketplace.

First introduced in the mid-1990s, Metropolitan debuted with Connecticut and Maduro blends produced in the Dominican Republic by the Quesada family. Rather than chasing trends, the line expanded deliberately over time, adding Metropolitan Habano in 2016 and incorporating the Host blends into the Metropolitan Selection in 2018. Today, each Metropolitan blend continues to be produced at the same factory where it was originally developed—an increasingly rare distinction in an industry where production often shifts to meet short-term demands.

To commemorate three decades of consumer trust and retailer loyalty, Ferio Tego is releasing Ferio Tego Metropolitan 30 Years, a 6 x 50 toro handcrafted in the Dominican Republic by the Quesada family. The blend features Dominican and Nicaraguan fillers, a Dominican binder, and an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper, designed to reflect Metropolitan’s hallmark balance while offering added depth appropriate for the anniversary.

According to Ferio Tego co-owner Michael Herklots, the Metropolitan name has long represented reliability and familiarity for both retailers and consumers. Over the years, the brand has often served as a first premium cigar, a dependable everyday choice, or a celebratory smoke—roles that only develop through consistency over time. The 30 Years release is positioned as both a tribute and an evolution, maintaining the core character of Metropolitan while subtly enriching the profile to align with contemporary palates.

For retailers, the release highlights the ongoing value of heritage brands that reward long-term shelf presence. Metropolitan’s history of remaining true to its origins—both in blend and production—has helped sustain multi-generational consumer relationships, a factor that continues to drive repeat purchases and brand loyalty at retail.

Ferio Tego Metropolitan 30 Years will be presented in boxes of 10 cigars, with production limited to 2,500 boxes. The suggested retail price is $135 per box, excluding applicable taxes, and shipments are scheduled to begin in late February.

Ferio Tego’s portfolio, including the Metropolitan Selection, is distributed in the United States by Davidoff of Geneva USA, ensuring nationwide availability for qualifying retailer.
