Ferio Tego has announced Ferio Tego Milestones, a limited-edition premium cigar created in collaboration with the Miles Davis Estate and independent music company Reservoir as part of the official Miles Davis Centennial celebration marking the legendary musician’s 100th birthday.
The cigar takes its name from Milestones, Davis’ landmark 1958 album and title track, while also recognizing the role premium cigars often play in commemorating meaningful occasions. According to the company, the project was designed to reflect qualities associated with Davis’ music, including sophistication, nuance, structure and depth.
Ferio Tego co-owner and blender Michael Herklots said the cigar also reflects his personal connection to the jazz icon. A graduate of Berklee College of Music with a degree in drum set performance, Herklots studied and performed the music of Miles Davis during his time at the school, including performances with the Berklee Miles Davis Ensemble.
“This cigar was created to reflect qualities I admire in Miles’ most enduring work; approachability, sophistication, structure, nuance, expression, restraint, and depth,” Herklots said in a press release. “One does not need to be an expert to love Miles Davis, but experts have spent lifetimes studying his music.”
Blend and Packaging
Ferio Tego Milestones is produced by Agroindustrias in Honduras in a single 6 x 50 Toro vitola.
The blend features:
- Ecuador-grown Connecticut-seed wrapper
- Honduran binder
- Fillers from Honduras, Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic
The release is limited to 1,600 boxes, each containing 10 cigars with a suggested retail price of $185 per box.
Each box prominently features the iconic silhouette of Miles Davis and includes one of four commemorative 5 x 7 reproductions of original Miles Davis sketches. Four hundred boxes were produced for each sketch variation. Retailers will receive complete four-box sets featuring each of the four commemorative editions.
In addition, each box includes a QR code linking to a curated playlist assembled by Herklots, Reservoir and the Miles Davis Estate to accompany the smoking experience.
According to the Miles Davis Estate, the collaboration reflects the musician’s enduring legacy of creativity and craftsmanship.
Ferio Tego Milestones is now shipping to retailers. In the United States, the brand is distributed by Davidoff of Geneva USA.
