CAO is introducing a new line aimed at delivering its signature blending expertise to a wider range of consumers. Surplus by CAO is a trio of budget-friendly cigars built for curious smokers seeking quality craftsmanship at an accessible price point—without compromising flavor.

Launching August 1, Surplus offers three distinct blends: Shade, Maduro, and Sweet. Each blend is handcrafted in Honduras and made with a consistent core of Dominican Olor filler and Ecuadorian Sumatra binder, while the wrappers vary to reflect each blend’s flavor profile:

  • Shade – Smooth Honduran Connecticut
  • Maduro – Bold Mexican San Andrés
  • Sweet – Aromatic Ecuadorian Sumatra

“Surplus by CAO gives more smokers a way to explore our global blending style without a high cost barrier,” said Cory Beardsley, CAO Brand Manager. “Whether a customer prefers something smooth, bold, or sweet, there’s an option in this line that fits.”

Format and Pricing

Each blend is available in three formats—Robusto, Toro, and Gigante—with the following packaging and pricing structure:

  • Shade and Maduro – 25-count bundles
  • Sweet – 20-count bundles
  • MSRP: $45.80 to $69.75 per bundle

For retailers, Surplus by CAO offers a strong value proposition to attract price-conscious shoppers and newcomers to the premium cigar category while still carrying the trust and name recognition of CAO.
