Duran Cigars has unveiled a major milestone in its family legacy with the release of the Roberto Duran Reserva, a new super-premium line that marks the first blend ever crafted collaboratively by Roberto Pelayo Duran and his son, Roberto Pelayo Duran Jr. The launch comes at a pivotal time as the company strengthens its reestablished U.S. presence through its new headquarters and retail space in Little Havana.
Building upon the heritage of the original Roberto P. Duran line, the Reserva represents the next step in the family’s blending philosophy—one that unites Roberto Sr.’s decades of global tobacco experience with Roberto Jr.’s modern palate and forward-looking approach. Handcrafted at the family’s boutique factory in Estelí, Nicaragua, the new line reflects the Duran commitment to vertical integration, Cuban-inspired technique, and small-batch precision.
“This is the first cigar my father and I truly blended together,” said Roberto Jr., Marketing & Sales Manager. “The Reserva reflects two generations—his deep knowledge and my modern vision of flavor. Creating this cigar with him is something I’ll carry with me for the rest of my life.”
Developed jointly by father and son, the Roberto Duran Reserva showcases a refined, aromatic profile shaped by select aged tobaccos. It features a Habano Corojo wrapper grown at Fincas Azan in Ecuador from the 2024 harvest, paired with a Besuki Indonesian binder, and filled with a combination of three-year-aged Jalapa viso and seco along with Estelí-grown Nicaraguan leaf. Together, these components create a medium-plus, flavor-forward experience with progressive development throughout the smoke, delivering rich notes of cedar, sweetness, cocoa, and coffee, all culminating in a balanced, long-lasting finish.
The Reserva debuts in three formats, each chosen to showcase the blend’s depth across different shapes and sizes:
- Big Robusto (5 x 54) – $16 per cigar | $400 per box of 25
- Toro Box Pressed (6 x 54) – $18 per cigar | $360 per box of 20
- Double Corona (7 x 52) – $20 per cigar | $500 per box of 25
“These tobaccos represent some of the finest we’ve produced in recent years,” said Roberto Pelayo Duran, Founder & CEO. “Working on this blend with my son has been one of the most meaningful moments of my career. The Reserva shows who we are—our past, our present, and the future of Duran Cigars.”
The Roberto Duran Reserva will ship nationwide as a standalone release from the company’s new Little Havana distribution center. For Duran Cigars, this debut not only reaffirms its renewed commitment to the U.S. market but also celebrates a powerful milestone as father and son shape the brand’s next era together.
