Emilio Cigars has begun shipping its latest limited-edition release, Suave Sumatra, to retailers.

Produced at Fabrica Oveja Negra in Estelí, Nicaragua, the new release expands on Emilio’s Suave line with a Sumatra wrapper over an Ecuadorian Habano binder and Nicaraguan filler. Suave Sumatra is being offered in two sizes: a 5 x 50 Robusto and 6 x 50 Toro.

James Brown, owner and master blender of Black Label Trading Company and Fabrica Oveja Negra, developed the blend and artwork for the release. According to Brown, the original Suave has played an important role in introducing smokers to the Emilio portfolio.

“Suave has been the cigar line that really put Emilio on the map,” Brown said. “It’s not only a great introduction to the brand but also a great introduction to smoking cigars in general.”

Brown said the use of a Sumatra wrapper was intended to add a balance of spice, flavor and complexity while retaining the subtle sweetness associated with the Suave line.

For retailers, Suave Sumatra is shipping in 20-count boxes. The Robusto carries an MSRP of $10 per cigar, while the Toro is priced at $10.50 per cigar.

Suave Sumatra is available as a limited-edition release and is shipping to retailers now.
