Quesada’s Don Manolo 79 has begun shipping to U.S. retailers, bringing the limited-edition tribute to Manuel “Don Manolo” Quesada’s 79th birthday to the market.
Raquel and Patricia Quesada led the blending project alongside the factory team. According to the announcement from SAG Imports, this marks the first time the sisters have taken the lead on one of Quesada’s anniversary releases honoring their father.
The 6 x 52 toro combines a Honduran wrapper, Dominican binder and filler tobaccos from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. The blend incorporates tobacco Don Manolo had set aside since the late 1990s, connecting the release to his own history with the family business.
Worldwide production is limited to 1,000 boxes, with 700 allocated to the U.S. market. The presentation also introduces elements of Quesada’s evolving brand design, including commemorative coins recognizing milestones in Don Manolo’s life and the family’s history.
PCA previously covered the Don Manolo 79 ahead of its PCA26 debut. The latest announcement confirms that U.S. shipments are now underway.
The release adds a family-led anniversary offering to retailers’ Quesada selections, with U.S. availability limited to the market’s allocation.
