Hiram & Solomon Cigars has announced the return of Ashlar, a commemorative cigar originally created to celebrate the company’s 10th anniversary. The cigar first debuted at the 2025 Premium Cigar Association Trade Show in New Orleans, where it was introduced as a symbolic release reflecting the company’s values of craftsmanship, tradition, and reflection.

Shortly after the initial launch, however, production of Ashlar came to an unexpected halt following the passing of the master torcedor who had been solely responsible for rolling the cigar. The loss forced the company to pause the project rather than risk altering the blend’s construction or character.

According to Hiram & Solomon, the company chose to temporarily suspend production while a new torcedor was trained to replicate the cigar’s distinctive construction. The process involved closely studying the original rolling technique and carefully developing the skills needed to recreate the cigar’s design.

With production now completed, Ashlar is set to return to the market. The cigars will begin shipping to retail partners in priority sequence, with the earliest deliveries going to those retailers who supported the project during its original release.

For Hiram & Solomon, the return of Ashlar represents more than the continuation of a limited cigar. The release carries a deeper meaning tied to the people and craftsmanship behind the brand—an acknowledgment of the role that individual artisans play in shaping the premium cigar experience.

The cigar’s name itself reflects that philosophy. In Freemasonry, an ashlar represents a stone shaped and refined by skilled hands—an appropriate metaphor for a cigar whose production required patience, training, and respect for the craft. As shipments begin, Ashlar returns not only as a commemorative release marking a milestone for the company, but also as a reminder of the dedication and human skill that remain at the heart of premium cigar making.
