This summer, La Aurora will release a new Lancero size of its 120 Aniversario premium cigar. Previously, the Lancero of this cigar was only available as part of the Limited Edition Lancero Collection.

“The 120 Aniversario represents not only a major milestone for La Aurora, founded in 1903, but a major milestone for the La Aurora, USA business, as it was our first official launch as a new business entity and the line now represents one of our best-selling brands,” says Ed McKenna, La Aurora USA CEO. “We’re excited to offer the blend now in the Lancero vitola, as it is a format that our team in Santiago de Los Caballeros executes particularly well.”

Manuel Ynoa, La Aurora’s master blender, added “Entrusted to only our most seasoned rollers, the lancero is a format I have come to love due to the challenge in crafting each blend. Blender and Roller must work hand in hand to ensure a flawless product, and this collection defines the La Aurora brand and the quality for which it stands. Furthermore, the lancero necessitates less filler, and as a result, each blend takes on a life of its own that differs in nuanced ways from the other formats in the line, making for a truly unique experience to share with others.”

The La Aurora 120 Aniversario Lancero has a cedar aroma and smoky flavors of peppered cinnamon and anise. This medium to full-bodied smoke is said to have a “sweetness that enters the fold with a sweet cocoa and creamy coffee bean, soon evolving into a smooth vanilla finish.” This is a cigar with Dominican Republic tobaccos used for the cigar’s wrapper, binder, and filler. Only 750 boxes of the 120 Aniversario Lancero will be released to retailers by mid-summer.

The suggested retail price per cigar is $18 before applicable taxes.
