La Flor Dominicana is marking a decade of the Andalusian Bull with a limited-edition maduro scheduled to begin shipping to retailers this week. The Andalusian Bull 10th Anniversary Maduro carries a suggested retail price of $35 per cigar, with production limited to 5,000 boxes of 10.

For specialty tobacco retailers, the release brings a new blend to a recognizable name. The original Andalusian Bull debuted in 2016 and earned Cigar Aficionado’s Cigar of the Year designation that year. The anniversary edition retains its distinctive figurado shape while introducing Connecticut broadleaf in place of the original Ecuadorian wrapper.

Beneath that wrapper are Dominican binder and filler tobaccos grown at La Flor Dominicana’s La Canela farm. According to Cigar Aficionado’s reporting, the blend includes a binder and a Pelo de Oro filler component from the 2016 harvest, connecting the anniversary cigar to the year of the original’s introduction. Those tobaccos have aged for approximately a decade.

The cigar measures 6½ inches long, with a ring gauge ranging from 52 to 64. Its suggested box price is $350. This release will feature green-and-gold packaging with a lid that opens in a diamond pattern, distinguishing the anniversary presentation from the original release.

For retailers, this popular cigar’s wrapper change, aged Dominican components, and limited production provide talking and selling points to discuss with customers familiar with the original release. The anniversary edition also offers an opportunity to explain how a different wrapper and tobacco selection can create a new interpretation within an established cigar line.

Retailers interested in carrying the release should contact their La Flor Dominicana representative to confirm availability and anticipated delivery before announcing an in-store arrival.
