Meerapfel Cigar has unveiled the Ernest Lancero, the latest addition to its prestigious Master Blend series.

The release honors Ernest Meerapfel, great-grandfather of the current family generation, whose adventurous spirit defined an era of transatlantic tobacco trade. In the early 1900s, Ernest sailed to Indonesia and became one of the leading exporters of Indonesian Sumatra tobacco—a legacy now reflected in this sophisticated new blend.

Crafted with Meerapfel’s hallmark precision, the Ernest Lancero (7 1/2 x 40) features the company’s prized Genuine Meerapfel Cameroon wrapper, known as its “sacred leaf.” The blend delivers a refined, complex profile with notes of leather, dark chocolate, oriental spice, and subtle minerality, balancing elegance with depth.

“Every detail of a Meerapfel cigar is over-engineered,” said Jeremiah E. Meerapfel, describing the brand’s approach. “The technical performance of the tobacco—its oils, combustion, and balance—defines the experience and what makes Meerapfel cigars truly unique.”

The tobaccos used in this cigar have been aged for more than two decades in specialized vaults under natural European conditions, resulting in remarkable smoothness and consistency.

Presented in specially engineered Paulownia-wood chests of 25 cigars, production of the Ernest Lancero is limited to 613 chests per year, with a suggested retail price of $73 per cigar. Global shipping will begin in the coming weeks.
