In a press release, Oettinger Davidoff chief marketing officer Edward Simon commented: “To mark this very special occasion, we wanted to delight our aficionados with novelties around our Lunar New Year celebrations, while preserving our original intention of these product launches: Celebrate in style, honour the zodiac and create truly unique cigars that will fill our aficionados’ time beautifully – for the first time with three different formats.”

He continued, “I am convinced that with this new cycle we will distinguish ourselves through our leap forward in terms of innovation and packaging design. The changes we have made make our collection more relevant than ever to our customers around the world.”

The Davidoff Year of the Snake Limited Edition Lancero is handcrafted in the Dominican Republic. It features an Ecuadoran wrapper and binder and filler tobacco from the Dominican San Vicente, Mexican Negro San Andres. This cigar is presented as a 7 x 43 Lancero and has a suggested retail price of $62 per cigar before applicable taxes. Davidoff is also releasing a Masterpiece Humidor that will include an exclusive 6 x 52gran toro Year of the Snake Cigar.

In addition to this special cigar, Davidoff has a collection of Year of Snake accessory products slated for release. The Davidoff Year of the Snake Accessories Gift Set contains a porcelain ashtray with two rests for cigars, an eye-catching cigar case that holds two cigars, and an elegant punch cigar cutter with two different blades.

Also unveiled is the Year of the Snake Masterpiece Humidor. The lid of this special humidor displays two snakes spiraling upward through waves as they protect 24-carat gold tobacco leaves. The artwork was initially designed by Chinese illustrator Feifei Chen. French marquetry artist Mariane Léger translated Feifei’s illustration into 326 individual pieces of varying shapes, sizes, and texture and applied them to the humidor. The humidor comes with 88 gran toro cigars made with the same special blend as the limited lancero and toro cigars, but measures 6 x 56, making it slightly thicker than the flagship-exclusive toro.

Davidoff began shipping the Davidoff Year of the Snake collection worldwide on November 14, 2024.
