At this year’s Premium Cigar Association (PCA) trade show, OZ Family Cigars will debut a new premium cigar brand, Karatoba. This is the fourth brand to be released by OZ Family Cigars, and it is handcrafted in Nicaragua at NACSA (Nicaraguan American Cigars S.A.).
“Karatoba” is a word that combines the Turkish word for “dark” with “Toba,” a reference to Lake Toba in Indonesia, which is located on top of a caldera formed by an old super-volcano.
When creating this cigar and its blend, OZ Family Cigar’s founder, Tim Ozgener, set out to craft a premium cigar that would stimulate the palate immediately with complex and evolving flavors. This is a medium-to-full-bodied smoke and the strongest cigar in OZ Family Cigar’s portfolio so far.
Karatoba will come in 21-count boxes and be available in four sizes: Robusto, 5 x 52; Robusto Extra, 5 1/2 x 55; Toro, 6 1/2 x 50; and Gordo, 6 x 60. The suggested retail price per cigar will range from $12 to $13 before applicable taxes. This cigar is expected to begin shipping in May 2025.
OZ Family Cigars will exhibit with Crowned Heads at this year’s PCA25 trade show in New Orleans from April 11 to 14, 2025.
