The Premium Cigar Association (PCA), in collaboration with Keiser University Latin American Campus and the Cámara Nicaragüense de Tabacaleros (CNT), proudly announced the launch of a pioneering Certified Executive Education (non-credit) Program: “The Business of Premium Cigars: Strategy, Operations, Branding, and Experiences That Build Legacy.”

The program was introduced during an inspiring luncheon in Estelí, Nicaragua, attended by leaders and representatives from some of the most respected premium cigar companies and families in the world. The initiative reflects a unique collaboration between academia and industry designed to strengthen leadership, professional development, and strategic knowledge within the global premium cigar sector.

Many modules will be delivered directly by renowned cigar makers, founders, and industry leaders, offering participants a rare opportunity to learn firsthand from those who have helped shape the modern premium cigar industry. The program is designed for owners, executives, managers, emerging talent, and entrepreneurs, while also welcoming professionals from related sectors—as well as passionate cigar aficionados seeking a deeper understanding of the business, culture, and global dynamics of premium cigars.

The executive program will take place over four full-day Saturdays in June 2026 at the Keiser University Latin American Campus in Managua, totaling 32 hours of in-person instruction and culminating in a gala graduation ceremony. The immersive curriculum covers key dimensions of the premium cigar business—including strategy, operations, branding, finance and international trade—providing participants with a comprehensive understanding of how premium cigar enterprises are built, positioned, and grown in today’s global marketplace.

“The premium cigar industry stands at the intersection of craftsmanship, agricultural heritage, and global entrepreneurship,” said Joshua Habursky, Chief Executive Officer of the Premium Cigar Association. “We are extremely proud to collaborate with Keiser University and the Nicaraguan Tobacco Chamber on this initiative. By bringing together industry expertise and academic rigor, this program helps prepare the next generation of leaders who will shape the future of premium cigars.”

Dr. Mathew Anderson, President of Keiser University Latin American Campus, said: “The premium cigar industry represents far more than a product. It reflects craftsmanship, heritage, and entrepreneurial vision that has positioned Nicaragua among the world’s most respected producers.” Dr. Anderson added: “We are honored to collaborate with the PCA and grateful for the support of Ricardo Carioni in helping bring this initiative to life. Together, we are creating a platform that connects academic excellence with the strategic realities of the global premium cigar marketplace.”

“We are on a profound mission to protect and strengthen the culture and heritage of premium cigars while supporting the future of our industry,” said Ricardo Carioni, Director of International Affairs & Education at the PCA. “Bringing academia with Keiser University Latin American Campus and the cigar world together allows us to educate, inspire, and empower the next generation of leaders while reinforcing the traditions, and communities, that define our industry in Nicaragua, in Latin America, in the United States, and throughout the world.”

Applications for the program will open soon.
