Quesada Cigars is preparing to introduce the Don Manolo 79, a limited release created to mark the 79th birthday of Manuel “Manolo” Quesada Jr., at the 2026 Premium Cigar Association Trade Show (PCA26) in New Orleans.

The release continues a series of cigars developed to commemorate milestone birthdays of the company’s longtime leader, following previous editions for his 70th and 75th birthdays.

The Don Manolo 79 is produced in a 6 x 52 toro format and features a Honduran wrapper, a Dominican binder, and filler tobaccos sourced from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. According to published details, part of the blend incorporates tobacco that had been set aside by Manolo Quesada in the late 1990s.

The cigars are manufactured in the Dominican Republic at Quesada’s Tabacos de Exportación facility.

Unlike earlier birthday releases, which were blended by Manolo Quesada himself, the Don Manolo 79 was developed by his daughters, Raquel and Patricia Quesada. The release comes following changes in the company’s leadership structure, with Raquel and Patricia assuming control of operations in 2024.

The Don Manolo 79 will be produced in 1,000 boxes of 10 cigars, totaling 10,000 cigars. Of that production, 700 boxes are allocated for the U.S. market, with the remaining 300 designated for international distribution. The cigars a suggested retail price of $21.99 per cigar before applicable taxes.

The Don Manolo 79 will be showcased at PCA26, with shipments expected to begin in August 2026.
