Black Label Trading Company is preparing to introduce a new limited release with the debut of Macabre, set to launch at the 2026 Premium Cigar Association Trade Show (PCA26) in New Orleans.
Produced at Fabrica Oveja Negra in Estelí, Nicaragua, Macabre continues the brand’s approach of combining bold profiles with small-batch production—an approach that has helped define its position within the boutique segment of the premium cigar market.
A Limited Release with Show-Floor Priority
Macabre will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis to retailers attending PCA 2026, reinforcing a familiar dynamic for boutique releases where availability is tied directly to trade show participation.
For PCA members, this type of distribution model places added importance on early engagement and on-site ordering, particularly for brands with a history of strong demand and limited production runs.
Shipping is expected to begin immediately following the show, allowing retailers to move quickly from ordering to in-store availability.
A Profile Built on Depth and Balance
Macabre is constructed using a Mexican San Andrés wrapper, paired with an Ecuadorian Habano binder and Nicaraguan fillers, creating a blend designed to deliver both intensity and refinement.
The profile is positioned around rich, dark characteristics, with a balance of earthy and floral notes supported by a more pronounced spice component—an approach consistent with Black Label Trading Co.’s established blending style.
Format, Pricing, and Presentation
The cigar will be available in three vitolas:
- Robusto (5 x 50) – MSRP $13.50
- Corona Gorda (5.5 x 46) – MSRP $13.50
- Toro (6 x 50) – MSRP $14.00
Each size will be packaged in 20-count boxes, maintaining the brand’s standard presentation while focusing attention on the blend and smoking experience.
Boutique Strategy and Retail Opportunity
For PCA retailers, releases like Macabre highlight the continued strength of the boutique segment—where limited availability, distinctive profiles, and brand identity drive consumer interest.
Products offered in this format can serve as:
- Allocation-driven items that create urgency
- Conversation pieces within the humidor
- Repeat purchase drivers for customers loyal to boutique brands
